BA Fine and Applied Arts Degree Show 2025: Exploring Sensory Difficulties with Food- A Neurodivergent Perspective
It was significant for me to create a personal connection with my final degree show project, as a person with autism I wanted to highlight an issue I face in my every day life with my textile art practice.
Individuals with autism often experience sensory difficulties in relation to food, being either over-stimulated or under-stimulated by smells, textures and appearances of food. In this collection I explored textures of fruits and vegetables, foods neurodiverse people can struggle with. I used different textile techniques and recycled materials.
